Sysmex America, Inc. is the U.S. headquarters for SYSMEX CORPORATION, a leading international manufacturer of diagnostic systems for medical laboratories worldwide. Sysmex is involved in the development of clinical laboratory testing devices, reagents and software for hematology, hemostasis, immuno-chemistry, particle counting and urinalysis as well as in the development of information systems.
Located in Mundelein, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, Sysmex America, Inc. brings the latest developments in the healthcare industry to the U.S., Canadian, and Latin America markets directly and through our affiliate companies and local alliance partners.
At Sysmex, we have adopted two commitments for the future: to continuously develop advanced technologies and create value while serving our customers and society at large; and to play a key role in contributing to the health and vitality of people worldwide. We also want to be a good corporate citizen within the communities that we operate plays a key of role in contributing to society as does educating our employees on health matters. Our community giving program involves partnering with the American Cancer Society for activities like Daffodil Days, in which Sysmex purchases vases of daffodils from the American Cancer Society for all of our employees while providing them with cancer awareness information. The fund for purchase is used for cancer research and improvement of QOL (Quality of Life) of cancer patients. In addition, we have partnered with LifeSource blood bank by hosting an employee blood drive at our facility. We encouraged our employees to make donations to non-for-profit organizations like Toys for Victims of Domestic Violence and the National Kidney Foundation by matching employee contributions. Sysmex has sponsored local community cultural and civic programs such as Mundelein Main Street Cross Cultural musical event.
In addition to the above, we have made donations to scholastic and non-profit organizations located outside of the greater Chicago area. These institutions include the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI; Baptist Health Foundation, Tennessee; Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education, Cleveland, Ohio; National Kidney Foundation; John Hopkins Medical Institute, Baltimore, MD; Mundelein Main Street Community Organization, Mundelein, Illinois; and the College of American Pathologists (CAP Foundation), Northbrook, Illinois.
We have also provided educational experience for our employees' children and their friends through our "Bring Your Children to Work Day" program as a part of contribution to community education. We provided several science sessions in which the children learned about blood cells analyzer, blood cell morphology, air pressure, surface tension of water, chromatography and statistical analysis. Children were able to learn about their parents' jobs and see their workplace.
Though our activities are still small-scale and limited contribution, we would like to continue the contribution to society in a diverse way we can do.
