The members of JCCC participate in a wide range of voluntary community activities. This helps Japanese citizens to appreciate the warm spirit of volunteering that is so much a part of American life. One of the major volunteer activities in which Chamber members participate is the annual �gSeptember Adopt-A-Beach�h event, organized by Alliance for the Great Lakes. During this event, participants remove litter from the Lake Michigan shoreline, while recording data that will be used for pollution prevention education. Last year, close to 100 JCCC members volunteered for this event, clearing over 260 pounds of trash from the shoreline.
