The Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Chicago (“JCCC”) will once again participate in the Alliance for the Great Lakes’ “September Adopt-a-Beach” program, a cleanup of the Lake Michigan shoreline that annually draws many volunteers to remove trash and collect valuable data throughout the Great Lakes region. Join us for the 2017 “JCCC Beach Sweep” as a volunteer!
Following the beach cleaning, we will walk to the Garden of the Phoenix located at the north end of the Wooded Island, immediately south of the Museum of Science & Industry. We will tour the Japanese garden and explore the site of SKY LANDING by Yoko Ono, which was the original site of the lost Phoenix Pavilion. You will also preview the surrounding areas which are under-going historical and ecological revitalization.
