Much of the JCCC Foundation donations are awarded through "Student Development and Achievement Grant." The purpose of the "Student Development and Achievement Grant" is to support programs that work directly with students to enhance learning and increase learning opportunities both inside and outside the school. All elementary and secondary schools and other not-for-profit organizations in the Chicagoland area producing programs that fall within the broad category of "education related" are encouraged to apply.

Preference is shown for innovative programs that encourage personal initiative and the development of adult values, higher-order thinking skills and real-life problem solving. Program goals and objectives should also have a direct impact on students and support the current Illinois Learning Standards for elementary and secondary students.

In order to be eligible for consideration, a proposal must be submitted in writing to the JCCC Foundation. The proposal must adhere to the guidelines as explained in the Student Development and Achievement Grant "Request for Proposals" that is prepared annually by the Foundation. The Request for Proposals may be obtained by contacting the JCCC Foundation in early April.

Grants are a one time gift and continuing support is generally not considered. Grants are not made for political or religious programs.
