Northside Learnning Center, a Chicago Public High School for students with cognitive disabilities, was built nineteen years ago. The vision of the school, which drives the current program, states that our purpose as educators is to provide students with skills that will enable them, upon graduation, to be contributing members of society.

Northside Wares is a project based learning experience for students with special education needs at the high school level. Students with disabilities can contribute to the community and Northside Learning Center offers this experience to students. Students will sell student generated product at a kiosk location. Stage II entails a developement of a web page for wider distribution of products.

The purpose of this service learning project is to provide students an opportunity to participate in a project based learning experience which allows them to generalize previously learned skills across environments.
