"Linking Cyberspece With Real Space," a problem-based curricular project, will provide intermediate (grades 3-5) and middle school students with an authentic, interactive study of space exploration through the Internet programs of Moonlink and NEAlink. Students will take on the roles of planetary scientists who will collect, analyze and present research findings to actual NASA scientists from data received from orbiting spacecraft. Students will continue their learning through an after-school Space Literature Club, a trip to the Adler Planetarium and guest speaker presentations. The culminating activity will be a Family Space Night where students will share research projects with families and friends. Through this project, technology will be used to improve student performance in the areas of reading, writing, science and math.
