JCCCコミュニティ委員会 渉外担当では、地域貢献事業の一環として、Northern Illinois Food Bankの趣旨に賛同し、イリノイ州北部の近隣住民に健康的な食事を届けるフードバンクでのボランティア活動を行います。昨年まではミシガン湖岸清掃プロジェクトに参加し、「Beach Sweep」としてボランティア活動を実施しておりましたが、今年はBeach Sweepに代わるものとしてフードバンクでのボランティア活動を通して地域貢献に努めてまいります。

Northern Illinois Food Bankは、National Feeding Americaのネットワークを通じて、イリノイ州北部13郡の近隣住民に一日あたり約25万食を提供しています。また、900以上のフードパントリーと協力し、毎週約1,000名のボランティアが食料の品質チェックや再梱包、配布を行い、炊き出しや避難所、子供や高齢者の食事プログラムへ栄養価の高い食品を届けています。

ボランティア作業はNorthern Illinois Food Bankの施設で行います。学生の方には、ボランティアクレジットになる証明書をNorthern Illinois Food Bankより発行いたします。ご希望の場合は、お申し込みの際にその旨をご記入ください。

8歳以上のお子様であれば、会員・非会員問わずご参加いただけます。自分たちでパッキングした食料が食糧援助を必要とする地域住民に届けられ、一人でも多くの方の健康を守ることに貢献することができます。ぜひご家族皆様でボランティア活動にご協力くださいますようご案内申し上げます。

日時: 2025年9月27日（土）9:00am – 11:00am　※8時半から受付開始

場所：Northern Illinois Food Bank - North Suburban Center (13950 W. Business Center Dr., Lake Forest, IL 60045)

参加費：無料※7歳以下のお子さまはご参加できません。

定員：100名 

申込締切：9月5日（金）※定員に達し次第、先着順で締め切らせて頂きます。

注意事項：

・ご参加はNorthern Illinois Food Bankがボランティアに課せているWaiver Form/権利放棄書にご署名いただける方に限ります。18歳以下の方は、保護者による署名が必要です。Waiver Formは開催日前に参加者の皆様に送付させていただきます。
・ボランティアクレジットになるレターが必要な方は、事前にお知らせください。当日にレターをお渡しさせていただきます。
・つま先が空いているサンダルや靴での参加はご遠慮ください。スニーカーでのご参加をお勧めいたします。

As part of its community outreach efforts, the JCCC Community Committee (External Affairs) will be supporting the mission of the Northern Illinois Food Bank by organizing volunteer activities at the food bank, which provides healthy meals to residents in Northern Illinois. Until last year, we participated in the Alliance for the Great Lakes’ “September Adopt-a-Beach” program through the “Beach Sweep” initiative. However, this year, in place of Beach Sweep, we will focus on community contribution through volunteer activities at the food bank.

Northern Illinois Food Bank, a member of the National Feeding America network, provides approximately 250,000 meals per day to residents across 13 counties in Northern Illinois. Working in partnership with over 900 food pantries, about 1,000 volunteers each week help check food quality, repackage, and distribute food, delivering nutritious meals to soup kitchens, shelters, and meal programs for children and seniors.

Volunteer activities will take place at the Northern Illinois Food Bank facility. Students can receive a volunteer credit certificate issued by Northern Illinois Food Bank. If you would like to receive this certificate, please indicate so when you register.

Children aged 8 and older, whether members or non-members, are welcome to participate. The food you help pack will be delivered to local residents in need of food assistance, helping to protect the health of as many people as possible. We encourage you and your family to join us in this meaningful volunteer activity.

Participation Fee: Free (Children 7 and under are not eligible to participate.)

Capacity: 100

Registration Deadline: Friday, September 5 (Registration will close once capacity is reached.)

Important Notes:

• Participation is limited to those who can sign the Waiver Form required by Northern Illinois Food Bank. For volunteers under the age of 18, the Waiver Form must be completed by a parent or guardian. The Waiver Form will be sent to all participants prior to the event.
• If you require a volunteer credit letter, please let us know in advance. We will provide the letter on the day of the event.
• Open-toed sandals or shoes are not permitted. Sneakers or gym shoes are preferred.
