Our department offers a major in Asian Languages and Cultures, and minors in Advanced Asian Language and Asian Humanities. Our major requires three years of an Asian language, but our advanced Asian language minor requires an additional fourth year of an Asian language. Many students choose the Advanced Asian Language Minor and combine it with other areas of their study.

Students in our Japanese language program come from various disciplines -- many majoring in STEM fields such as math, biology, chemistry, computer sciences and engineering (e.g., chemical, electrical, material sciences). Other students major in economics, communication, journalism, art history, etc. Some students spend a summer for intensive language study or spend a quarter at a Japanese university.

We are looking for opportunities to match students in our Japanese language program, whether they are majoring/minoring in our department or not, with JCCC member corporations.
